New Year’s Eve Day

Betty and Frank returned for a birthday lunch.  We had talked much about food while cooking with them on Tuesday and learned that they love seafood but had not experienced a few things we hold dear.  We began the meal with the most beautiful fresh frog’s legs from Florida.  Betty had never had them before and go figure we had to bring them from her home state of Florida for her to try in California!  Then we made Cioppino with Dungeness crab, clams, mussels, fresh squid, and shrimp served with a garlicky Rouille served on a crostini buried in the bottom of the bowl.  For dessert we made a carrot cake that was delicious.
